How to make your first AI video for free.
Table of contents
I had no experience creating AI videos until today, I will give you my honest opinion as a beginner, I am doing this research on my own, I’m exploring different AI tools to understand the market, and to make an informed decision when I sign up for a paid AI video generator plan in the future.
Reviewing free AI video generators with and without watermark
Things that I personally value as a content creator and blogger are ease of use, convenience, quality and cost. I am using only free versions of the tools, so I will briefly discuss this subject.
In addition, I used the copy from my essential oils blog to have a consistent theme and point of comparison. It was Interesting to see how each tool generated a unique version. Here is my first impression of popular 3 AI generating tools.
1. Canva
Ease of use: 10 out of 10
It was very easy to use. I currently use Canva for my content creation. I chose the beta tool called magic media and just followed their instructions.
- Video: First I selected the video option ( there is also an image tool)
- Describe what you would like to create: I entered some text from my blog. The limit was 5 words.
- Generate video. I waited about a minute for the video to pop on my Canvas.
Convenience: 10 out of 10
It was fast, my video was delivered on the same screen, no additional steps were needed to access my video. I had the same options that Canva provides for any content, I could download the file or link it to my social media accounts. The entire process took <2 min.
Quality: 6 out of 10
I was impressed with the quality in terms of graphics, more than a video, Canva delivered a GIF. Canva is great for content creation, and it shows on the beautiful images provided.
Also there was no can a watermark. But that’s all, that’s as far as this beta tool goes right now. Remember, there is a 5 word limit to describe what you need. So you have to be strategic. And there are not other options to customize your video in terms of sound, avatars, voice, etc. With a 5 word limit, you are not able to type the request either.
Cost: 10 out of 10
It was 100% free, no gimmicks. They offer a couple of daily free credits to try the magic studio, which is as a beta tool inside of Canva right now. I am exited to see how this tool evolves in the future as I already use Canva.

2. Vidnoz AI
Ease of use: 10 out of 10
It was an easy 3 step process, I just followed their instructions.
- Input text for your video: I copied and pasted some text from my blog. The limit was 2000 characters.
- Set basic video info: I Selected from the background music menu, the Relaxing option. Then, I chose to have Subtitles, and enabled the voiceover with a “female, excited young American voice” from their sample menu. They have plenty of realistic AI voices.
- Click Generate video to start: after one minute my video was delivered on the same screen. I must say I was impressed with the quality.
Convenience: 10 out of 10
It was fast, my video was delivered in the same screen, no additional steps were needed.
I received a downloadable file option. The entire process took less than 3 min.
Quality: 9 out of 10
I was impressed with the quality of the video in terms of graphics and content. This is directly result of the input, there is a 2000 character limit on the text screen, and many options to customize your video.
The output is aligned with your choices. Also they are very subtle with their Vidnoz watermark on the bottom left corner of the video. Hard to notice it.

Cost: 10 out of 10
It was 100% free, no gimmicks.
Since I was pleased with my experience using Vidnoz AI, I went a step further to look at their subscription model, for future reference, there is a free plan, a starter $22 and a business plan $56.
I signed up for the free plan, I found it friendly, easy to navigate and perfect for a beginner like me to create everyday 3 minutes of videos for my blog. https://naturalactivezen.com.
Visit my YouTube channel to see all the videos I have created with my free plan👇

Vidnoz free Subscription includes:
3 mins per day, 600+ video templates, 500+ AI avatars, 170+ voices, 720P export resolution, 2,000 characters per scene, 1 GB storage space
3. Synthesia
Ease of use: 10 out of 10
It was an easy 3 step process, I just followed their instructions:
- Select video template: there are 3 template options -demo, sales pitch and complement. Each version had a different background, avatar and voice. I used the “demo” template.
- Edit your video script in any language: I copied and pasted some text from my blog. The limit was 48 characters.
- Generate free AI video: I received a message on the screen telling me “Your video is making its way to you via email!” And 2 minutes lates I received an email with a video link.
Convenience: 7 out of 10
I waited for 2 minutes to get the video delivered via email, It was not as smooth as receiving the video on the same screen. I was a bit annoyed.
They provided links to share the video but a downloadable file version.
Quality: 7 out of 10
One thing that I noticed is that this free trial was missing some customization options such as background music, Subtitles and a broader sample menu of avatars and AI voices. which reflects on the final product.
I was not very happy with the first video I produced using the “demo” template. I made a second video with the “sales pitch” and I was even more disappointed, I am not sharing that video. Click here to see the first video.
Cost: 1 out of 10
Out of a curiosity, I also researched their paid plans, there is a starter plan for $22, a creator plan for $67 and the enterprise plan has no price info Available.
It was 100% free trial to test the tool. But there is no free plan to continue using the tool on a daily basis like with Canva or Synthesia. So I don’t give it 10 points because it is not really a free tool.
Based on my Sythesia free trial experience, I am not sure I will consider this tool in the future to buy an AI video creator plan.
I will continue adding more reviews on additional tools until I find at least more AI text-to-video generator options for bloggers.
